Windows executable?

I'm fairly eager to try Patternist out. Are there any plans to make platform-specific executables available for download?

I'm looking for a Windows binary myself.

    Thanks.

  2. Hi Briandon,

What kind of binary would you prefer? The `patternist' command line utility statically linked against libQtPatternist and the Qt libraries? Or do you also want the QtPatternist library built?

I'll see what I can do. What complicates is that since Patternist is currently on labs and not in Qt, we don't have the infrastructure for automatically producing snapshots.

Just nudging this thread to express my continued interest in a standalone Patternist for Windows and apologize for not being able to offer to commit any resources to assist you.

I appreciate the situation in terms of resources and infrastructure with this project and don't expect you to move heaven and earth to satisfy my whims, but I wanted you to know that my earlier comments weren't just drivebys. I'll continue to check this thread periodically for updates.

  5. I will of course provide the binaries. It's not a question of if, but when. There's two obstacles that drag this into a longer when:

    * The code needs to be patched for the MSVC compilers(who have an excentric take on what is considered C++).
    * I'm currently on vacation, chilling in Denmark & Sweden.

But I will look into this when I'm back.

    That's great!

    Enjoy your vacation.

  7. Ok, an update:

Instead of trying to get the executables out quickly, Patternist was integrated into Qt main instead, This means Patternist can be compiled by simply compiling Qt.The labs page has the scope: http://labs.trolltech.com/page/Projects/Internet/Patternist

    Is this ok to you?

(Generally it would be practical for me to not provide such Patternist-specific binaries for a development version, but instead focus on completing Patternist.)

Thank you for the update. Congratulations, by the way, on getting Patternist into Qt main.

I'm going to hold out for Patternist-specific binaries, though. I understand your desire to complete Patternist before tackling that task and will keep checking the Patternist blog and forums here for updates. I've also subscribed to your blog.

    Godspeed.

  9. Hey, good news.

We're looking into providing binary snapshots for the whole of Qt. So once that is up, this will yield binaries for Patternist.

The hardware for this have been ordered, and it will be set up once it arrives. Maybe an ETA of a couple of weeks, if I am to take a guess.
