Qt 4.7.0 string freeze is now in effect. No changes to strings will be accepted from this point.

Qt aims at being fully internationalized by use of its own i18n framework. Localization to languages we have no internal resources for needs to be provided by the community. If you would like to contribute your own translation please look at the Qt Localization guide.

How much time do translators have until 4.7 final is tagged? Qt is quite big and in a quick estimate I would say at least a month with string freeze would be needed to make good translations. That’s one thing I miss a lot in Qt release schedule. No firm dates for such things as string freeze and relese date. I get a feeling that translations don’t even get attention they deserve and isn’t even considered when deciding on the dates. it would be nice to have some more clear schedules like there is in KDE for example, where translators get about 2 months of string freeze time and clear dates.
