Some time ago we announced an alpha version of the Cocoa port. It made a minor splash and I like to say thanks to all the people that have provided feedback so far and put up with our alpha-quality release.

It was always intended that we would have snapshots available for this port, but there were so many things going on that this kind of slipped through the cracks. However, they are available now through FTP.

More info on snapshots is available here.

The open source snapshots can be downloaded here.

There are no rsync snapshots for the Cocoa port at the moment.

So, if you like life on the edge, feel free to check them out. If you’d rather wait for something a bit more “blessed,” you should get your chance soon enough.

Will these be available for commercial customers? I checked my regular download location but no luck.

Ah my mistake, they’re in the 4.4 snapshot directory. I didn’t expect to find them there. Thanks.

This is awesome!
I was wondering how progress was going - I thought that I’d have to write a workaround for the Mac in the interim that spawns and communicates with a 64bit non-gui process.
Can you recommend a particular snapshot though - I tried qt-mac-cocoa-opensource-src-4.4.1-snapshot-20080506, but I had to patch a few files so that it would compile and also the native file dialogs and qt designer will just crash.
Anyway, once again, awesome work!

Just letting you know that I’ve compiled my application up as Qt/Cocoa 64-bit and it works! There are a few loose ends, but that’s fine for now. Being able to load in multiple high-resolution MRIs in at once for this app makes all the difference! Thanks again!

Would it be possible to publish some kind of changelog to see what parts have changed in what manner?
