Congratulations to the entire KDE team for this release!

It is for sure the best release ever - due to the technology and also the excellent team effort. It takes a lot of guts to make a point-oh release and I’m very impressed by their courage and strength.

KDE 4.0 - Be Free

P.S.: I’m happy to be able to post this from within KDE 4 itself :)

Very unfinished. I have tried 2 liveCDs now and all KDE4 does under QEMU is that it crashes instantly. The new look is not finished, the start menu looks butt uggly. Starts slow as well. Back to better desktop, ie. Vista.

@Troll

If vista is the a better desktop, you truly has a problem. Most of KDE4 changes are under the hood (entire new architecture) to make the lives of anyone creating QT4 software under KDE environment (either in Linux, BSD or even windows, since KDE4 core components runs on it too) a dream. Yes, it’s butt ugly now, but it’s the first release, oriented for software developers, with near none code derived from kde3.

@troll: What you’re seeing in QEMU is probably this: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=427383
I suspect it is a bug in the X.Org X11 VESA driver.
